The Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics is an organization devoted to increasing communication and cooperation among college and university mathematics faculty throughout Alabama. The main activity of AACTM are an annual conference that is a mixture of talks and forums about mathematics and mathematics education that also includes the annual Lewis-Parker Lecture. The organization also helps sponsor the Alabama Journal of Mathematics.
67th Annual Meeting in Birmingham in February 4, 2017
The 67th Annual Meeting of the AACTM (Alabama Association of College Teachers of Mathematics) will be held Saturday, February 4, 2017, at Samford University. All mathematics teachers are welcome to attend the meeting where we will share mathematical and pedagogical talks, along with discussions about mathematics in Alabama. The featured Lewis-Parker lecturer will be announced shortly. Registration will begin around 8:15am with talks scheduled to begin at 9:00am (these times are tentative) in the Regions Resource Room, Room 400 of Cooney Hall (Brock School of Business). The $10 fee for registration will be collected at the meeting and will include a complimentary meal ticket to the Samford Cafeteria. Students will be allowed to attend for free but would have to purchase a lunch ticket for $7 at the meeting if they want to eat lunch in the cafeteria. The day will end with a brief business meeting around 3:30pm. The meeting is hosted by local organizers Janie Kennedy and Frank Patane (Janie can be reached via: firstname.lastname@example.org).
